Why this litter feels different from day one

It was only a few years ago that I first discovered tofu litter. And while I loved the concept, I quickly realised something important.

Not all tofu litter performs the same.

Some tracked. Some crumbled. Some held smell longer than expected. And some simply didn’t feel comfortable for cats to use.

So I started testing.

What I kept seeing

Across different brands, the same issues came up again and again:

• Pellets that felt too large or uncomfortable underfoot
• Clumps that didn’t hold together cleanly
• Moisture that spread instead of absorbing
• Trays that needed more frequent full changes
• Dust and breakdown over time
• Packaging that added unnecessary waste

These weren’t small inconveniences. They were the things that shape how a home feels every day.

So I set out to create something better.

Why the ingredients matter

MATCHA uses upcycled soy and green tea fibres. These plant-based materials naturally support moisture absorption and odour control, without relying on artificial additives.

Green tea contains naturally occurring compounds called catechins, which are known for their antibacterial and odour-neutralising properties.

The result is a litter that feels consistently clean, not just to us, but to cats as well.
